On Wednesday (October 22, 2025), the UGM Faculty of Law, through its Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Special Region High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, successfully held a \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d legal outreach event at the Logandeng Village Office in Playen Subdistrict, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. This legal outreach program aimed to provide legal insights and knowledge to the attendees\u2014village officials and the surrounding community\u2014regarding common legal issues. This edition of \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d focused on the theme \u201cJuvenile Delinquency and the Formulation of Village Regulations on Juvenile Delinquency\u201d to offer legal perspectives on aspects of juvenile delinquency and its management, as well as guidance on drafting village regulations addressing the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began at 9:30 a.m. WIB with a group singing of the national anthem, \u201cIndonesia Raya,\u201d followed by opening remarks by Suhardi, the village head of Logandeng. The event continued with a presentation by a team from the DIY High Prosecutor\u2019s Office\u2019s Civil and Administrative Law Division, which covered the duties, responsibilities, and functions of the civil and administrative law division within the Indonesian Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, a legal education session was led by two guest lecturers from the UGM Faculty of Law. Dr. Harry Purwanto, S.H., M.Hum., presented on \u201cJuvenile Delinquency\u201d to provide insights into the legal aspects of juvenile delinquency and its handling within the criminal justice context. The second presentation was delivered by Dr. Mahaarum Kusuma Pertiwi, S.H., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. on the theme \u201cFormulation of Village Regulations on Juvenile Delinquency\u201d to provide village officials with insights into how aspects of juvenile delinquency can be regulated through a legal instrument\u2014specifically, a Village Regulation\u2014based on higher-level regulations that also address juvenile delinquency. All speakers, both from the DIY Provincial Attorney General\u2019s Office and from the Faculty of Law at UGM, actively participated in the question-and-answer session with the village officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentations by all the speakers were delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, facilitating a productive discussion. The guest lecturers also answered participants\u2019 questions clearly and provided practical solutions. It is hoped that this legal outreach program will support SDG Goal 16\u2014to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions\u2014by starting with village governments working together with local communities, while also strengthening partnerships to achieve better outcomes in line with SDG Goal 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
