On Monday, October 20, 2025, the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Legal Aid and Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the High Prosecutor\u2019s Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Kejaksaan Tinggi DIY), successfully held a legal education program titled \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d at the Sendangadi Village Office, Mlati Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. The event aimed to provide legal knowledge and awareness to the village apparatus and local residents on common legal issues. This edition of Suluh Praja carried the theme \u201cLand Utilization, Islamic Inheritance Law, and Online Loans from a Criminal Law Perspective,\u201d which focused on increasing public understanding of lawful land use procedures, the principles of inheritance distribution under Islamic law, and the criminal law aspects of online loan practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began at 9:30 a.m. with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Sugengno, Head of Sendangadi Village. The session continued with a presentation from representatives of the Civil and Administrative Affairs Division (Datun) of the High Prosecutor\u2019s Office of Yogyakarta, who explained the duties, roles, and functions of the Datun Division within the Prosecutor\u2019s Office of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, three lecturers from the Faculty of Law UGM served as speakers Rafael Edy Bosko, S.H., MIL., from the Department of Agrarian Law, delivered a session on \u201cLand Utilization,\u201d emphasizing the legal foundations and importance of optimal, fair, and sustainable land use aligned with its social function\u2014especially in Sendangadi Village. The next presentation was given by Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si., from the Department of Islamic Law, who discussed \u201cIslamic Inheritance Law,\u201d offering insights into inheritance distribution according to Islamic legal principles and clarifying distinctions between inheritance, wills, and grants. The final session was led by Dr. Sigid Riyanto, S.H., M.Si., from the Department of Criminal Law, who presented \u201cOnline Loans from a Criminal Law Perspective.\u201d His session highlighted the potential legal risks of illegal online loans, which may lead to criminal acts such as fraud, embezzlement, and extortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This legal education initiative is expected to contribute to the realization of the 11th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) \u2014 sustainable cities and communities; the 16th SDG \u2014 peace, justice, and strong institutions starting from the village level; and the 17th SDG \u2014 strengthening partnerships to achieve better collective outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
