The Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University has once again demonstrated its academic excellence at the national level. This time, a delegation from FPPH PALAPA, Faculty of Law, UGM, won second place in the Scientific Writing Competition organized by Surabaya State University 5, with the theme \u201cThe Welfare of the People is the Supreme Law.\u201d The event brought together the top students from various universities across Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UGM Law Faculty delegation, consisting of Aldhienta Ashra Rafela and Valhallanay Isba Asafah\u2014UGM Law students from the class of 2023\u2014stood out with their paper titled \u201cPublic Information Transparency Portal: Fulfilling the Right to Information to Guarantee Human Rights in Indonesia.\u201d Through critical thinking, in-depth analysis, and systematic presentation, the team earned high praise from the judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Competition in this event was fierce from the manuscript selection stage all the way to the finals. Among the many participants, the UGM Faculty of Law team advanced to the final round and delivered an impressive presentation. The strength of their arguments, their ability to answer questions, and the originality of their ideas were key factors that led them to victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This achievement aligns with efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as it promotes transparency, accountability, and public access to information as part of the fulfillment of human rights. Furthermore, this achievement also supports SDG 4: Quality Education, as scientific competitions serve as a means to develop students\u2019 academic capacity and analytical skills. Through collaboration among students, faculty advisors, and competition organizers, this initiative also reflects SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening cooperation in fostering an academic culture characterized by integrity and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this success, it is hoped that more UGM Faculty of Law students will be motivated to continue excelling, hone their potential, and make tangible contributions to the advancement of science and the Indonesian nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
