Sri Wiyanti Eddyono, S.H., LL.M.(HR), Ph.D., a lecturer in the Department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (FH UGM), served as a panelist at the Denpasar 12 Discussion Forum organized by the People\u2019s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI). In this forum, which addressed the theme \u201cChallenges in Enforcing the Sexual Violence Crimes Act,\u201d stakeholders discussed various obstacles that have emerged following the enactment of Law No. 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes. The forum was held on Wednesday (June 11, 2025) via a Zoom teleconference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her presentation, Sri Wiyanti emphasized the importance of a critical legal analysis of the implementation of the TPKS Law, including the lack of implementing regulations and the challenges posed by patriarchal culture within law enforcement agencies. According to her, without clear implementing regulations and the commitment of law enforcement officials, it will be difficult to ensure that victims of sexual violence are given priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participation of the Faculty of Law at UGM, through criminal law professors such as Sri Wiyanti, demonstrates the university\u2019s commitment to promoting a legal system that is more just and victim-centered. This also reinforces the university\u2019s role as a strategic partner in contributing academic research to the improvement of public policy in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isu penegakan hukum terhadap kekerasan seksual ini juga berkaitan erat dengan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>.
