One of the humanitarian programs established through a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Klaten Regency is an annual blood drive organized by DEMA Justicia. This activity is carried out as a form of social concern by the academic community, while also serving as a tangible manifestation of the university\u2019s contribution to supporting humanitarian efforts at the local level. The inaugural blood drive coincided with the commemoration of Indonesian Red Cross Day on Tuesday (May 27, 2025), which has become a regular annual event. This program was designed with the primary objective of providing a platform for the active involvement of faculty members, staff, students, and alumni of the UGM Faculty of Law in social initiatives that directly benefit the community. The blood collected from this event will be distributed by the PMI to hospital patients, disaster victims, and individuals with specific medical conditions requiring regular blood transfusions. Thus, this activity not only plays a role in helping to meet blood supply needs but also serves as an educational tool regarding the importance of blood donation as a form of humanitarian contribution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The blood drive took place on the UGM Faculty of Law campus. It began with participant registration, followed by an initial health screening conducted by the Klaten PMI medical team. The screening included checks of blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, and donor eligibility in accordance with medical standards. Participants who met the criteria were then directed to the blood collection process under the supervision of professional medical staff. The event proceeded in an orderly and smooth manner and received a positive response from all parties involved. The participants\u2019 enthusiasm was evident in the participation of various members of the academic community. Many participants expressed pride in being part of this event, realizing that their contribution has a tangible impact on saving others\u2019 lives. Since this event has been held annually, it has successfully fostered a strong spirit of social responsibility within the faculty community,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blood donation program, initiated by DEMA Justicia, is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/em>, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which emphasizes the importance of inclusive health services and access to safe blood. Through this activity, DEMA Justicia FH UGM not only contributes to supporting public health but also fosters collective awareness of the importance of humanitarian action. Furthermore, the strategic partnership with PMI Klaten serves as a concrete example of the implementation of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), as it demonstrates how synergy between student organizations, universities, and humanitarian institutions can generate sustainable social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
