The event featured two prominent speakers: Dr. Zainal Arifin Mochtar, a lecturer in Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM, and historian Muhidin M. Dahlan. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Amalinda Savirani, S.IP., M.A., from the Department of Politics and Government at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UGM, served as a discussant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event serves as an important forum for reexamining the legacy of authoritarianism in Indonesia\u2019s political history and its impact on democracy and the rule of law. The speakers discussed authoritarian practices in Indonesia and examined how these practices have shaped the current political landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the key themes discussed was the relevance of authoritarianism to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. The speakers emphasized that understanding the historical context of authoritarianism is essential for building a more just and equitable society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the event came to a close, participants were encouraged to reflect on the lessons learned and consider their role in promoting democracy and justice in Indonesia. This book discussion served not only as an academic exercise but also as a call to action for all participants to contribute to a more democratic and just society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, the book discussion of \u201cThe Chronicle of Indonesian Authoritarianism\u201d was an important event that highlighted the significance of education in understanding and addressing the legacy of authoritarianism.
