On Wednesday (May 28, 2025), the Faculty of Law at UGM, through its Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Special Region High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, successfully held a \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d legal awareness session at the Sambirejo Village Office in Prambanan Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. This legal outreach program aimed to provide legal insights and knowledge to the attendees\u2014village officials and the surrounding community\u2014regarding common legal issues. This edition of \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d focused on the theme \u201cFormulation of Village Regulations and Environmental Health in Tourist Areas\u201d to provide legal insights regarding the importance of understanding the fundamentals of formulating Village Regulations in accordance with applicable regulations, as well as various aspects of environmental health within the tourism sector\u2014both nationally and within the Special Region of Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began at 9:30 a.m. with a group singing of the national anthem, \u201cIndonesia Raya.\u201d It continued with opening remarks by the representative of the Sambirejo Village Head, Wahyu Nugroho, S.E., M.B.A., followed by a presentation by a team from the Yogyakarta Special Region High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, represented by Dr. Putri Ayu Wulandari, S.H., M.H., and Ye Oceng Almahdaly, S.H., M.H., who delivered introductory remarks and presented material on the duties, responsibilities, and functions of the civil and administrative law division within the Attorney General\u2019s Office of the Republic of Indonesia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, the opening presentation was delivered by a guest lecturer from the UGM Faculty of Law, Dr. Airin Liemanto, S.H., LL.M., who addressed the topic \u201cFormulation of Village Regulations\u201d to provide village officials with the latest insights regarding the procedures and technical aspects of drafting Village Regulations in accordance with applicable regulations at both the national and regional levels, particularly in Sleman Regency. Additionally, another guest lecturer, Dr. Rr. Dinarjati Eka Puspitasari, S.H., M.Hum., an Environmental Law Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, UGM, presented on the topic \u201cEnvironmental Health in Tourist Destinations\u201d to provide insights into the aspects of sustainable tourism development, All speakers, both from the DIY Provincial Attorney General\u2019s Office and the UGM Faculty of Law, actively engaged in discussions during the question-and-answer session with village officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentations by all the speakers were delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, facilitating productive discussions. The lecturers also answered participants\u2019 questions clearly and offered practical solutions. It is hoped that this legal awareness session will support SDG Goal 8 by promoting decent work and economic growth, SDG Goal 10 regarding reducing inequality through the creation and availability of tourism job opportunities, and SDG Goal 16 to foster peace, justice, and resilient institutions starting at the village government level, as well as strengthening partnerships to achieve better outcomes in line with SDG Goal 17.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
