On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, a workshop on Procedures for Creating Proceedings and Journals (ISSN and ISBN) for the Master of Law (Jakarta Campus) was held. The theme of the workshop was \"Scientific Writing is a Window to the World.\" The workshop was held at the Sensa Hotel, Bandung, and was a focused discussion attended by Management and Educational Staff from the UGM MIH Study Program (Jakarta Campus). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop aimed to: (1) provide an understanding of the regulations for establishing Scientific Publication Institutions and the standards for their establishment; (2) discuss aspects of Scientific Publication Institution certification (ISSN, E-ISSN, E-ISBN, and ISBN); and (3) provide knowledge on the procedures for managing Scientific Publication Institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was opened by Dr. Ninik Darmini, S.H., M.Hum., Head of the Master of Law Study Program (Jakarta Campus). The first presentation was delivered by Saru Arifin from UNNES, focusing on the challenges of managing journals and proceedings and the obstacles they face. The second presentation was delivered by Ahmad Saefudin Surapermana from the Directorate of Repositories, Multimedia, and Scientific Publishing, National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN), focusing on regulations for establishing journals and proceedings, including challenges in establishing them, and procedures for registering ISSNs and e-ISSNs. The third presentation was delivered by Ratna Gunarti, focusing on the National Library's ISBN policy and submission procedures. Finally, Idil Akbar presented on tips for successfully establishing a journal institution and achieving accreditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The workshop was delivered by resource persons relevant to the topic, who can support the needs of creating and managing proceedings and journals. Focused discussions included questions about the stages and documents required to register ISSNs and e-ISSNs for scientific journals, how journal managers ensure that the e-ISSNs obtained comply with international standards, the first steps publishers must take to register ISBNs and ISSNs, and the main challenges faced in establishing scientific journals. The workshop was very useful, especially in understanding the regulations and aspects required in the formation of scientific publications, so that they can run according to the standards set on a national scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
