The Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University held an exploratory meeting regarding cooperation with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday (December 23, 2024). This exploratory meeting was a follow-up to the initial cooperation meeting held on Thursday (September 5, 2024). During that initial meeting, BIN and the Faculty of Law at UGM discussed cooperation in the field of education, specifically regarding the master\u2019s program at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exploratory meeting regarding cooperation with the State Intelligence Agency was attended by Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL. M., M.A., as the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems at the Faculty of Law, UGM; Yusrin, S.H., M.H., as the Head of the Legal Bureau of the State Intelligence Agency; and Royhan Akbar, S.H., LL.M., as a representative from the Partnership and Development Unit<\/em>. In this exploratory meeting, BIN and the UGM Faculty of Law agreed to develop cooperation in the field of human resource development within the scope of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education, research, and community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yusrin stated that BIN employs personnel from various background<\/em>, one of which is law. To maintain the quality of BIN personnel, it is necessary to advance legal expertise by sending staff to pursue graduate studies at the UGM Faculty of Law. Jaka explained that the Faculty of Law offers six master\u2019s degree programs in law: Master of Law and Public Administration, Master of Health Law, Master of Litigation Law, Master of Legal Studies, Master of Notarial Law, and Master of Legal Studies at the Jakarta Campus, all taught by faculty members who are experts in their respective fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the areas of research and community service, BIN operates the State Intelligence College, which can collaborate with the Faculty of Law at UGM. Any joint research and community service initiatives will, of course, adhere to the applicable code of ethics.
