The workshop took place on Monday (November 25, 2024) at the Grand Tjokro Hotel in Yogyakarta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the workshop was to identify, evaluate, and gather feedback on the structure and substance of the course material for Islamic Marriage and Inheritance Law to accommodate societal developments, regulatory changes, and court rulings in the field of Islamic marriage and inheritance law, as well as issues faced by the community in these areas.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">The workshop was attended by all faculty members of the Department of Islamic Law at the UGM Faculty of Law and involved relevant stakeholders. Among those present were Dr. KH. Ahmad Zuhdi Muhdlor, S.H., M.Hum., Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for the Special Region of Yogyakarta; Dr. Latifah Setyawati, S.H., M.Hum., Deputy Chair of the Wonosari Religious Court; Dra. Mayawati Jati Lestari, MT. as Head of the Civil Registration Services Division at the Sleman Regency Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), and Nur Kumala Pramuwardhani, S.I.P., as a Junior Policy Analyst in the Civil Registration Services Division at the Yogyakarta City Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop began with opening remarks and an overview of the workshop program by the Chair of the Department of Islamic Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM, Dr. Hartini, S.H., M.Si. This was followed by presentations on the identification, evaluation, and feedback regarding the course materials for the \u201cIslamic Marriage and Inheritance Law\u201d course, delivered in sequence by the speakers: Dr. KH. Ahmad Zuhdi Muhdlor, S.H., M.Hum., Nur Kumala Pramuwardhani, S.I.P., Dra. Mayawati Jati Lestari, MT., and Dr. Latifah Setyawati, S.H., M.Hum.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this workshop, all faculty members of the Department of Islamic Law at the Faculty of Law, UGM\u2014namely Dr. Hartini, S.H., M.Si., Dr. Muhaimin, S.H., M.Kn.,  Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si., Dr. Destri Budi Nugraheni, S.H., M.S.I., Dr. Khotibul Umam, S.H., LL.M., and Haniah Ilhami, S.H., LL.M., were also actively engaged in responding to the speakers\u2019 presentations, providing analysis, evaluation, and feedback on the teaching materials for the course on Islamic Marriage and Inheritance Law, as well as discussing related legal issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">It is hoped that through this workshop, the course on Islamic Marriage and Inheritance Law can keep pace with developments in society, high-quality learning materials can be created, and a shared understanding can be established among academics and relevant stakeholders such as the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Religious Courts, and the Population and Civil Registration Office.
