{"id":32045,"date":"2024-11-14T15:05:46","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T08:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/law.ugm.ac.id\/?p=32045"},"modified":"2024-11-21T15:16:39","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T08:16:39","slug":"alsa-lc-ugm-research-team-serahkan-sebuah-blueprint-revolusioner-mengenai-environmentally-displaced-persons-kepada-kementerian-luar-negeri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.ugm.ac.id\/en\/alsa-lc-ugm-research-team-serahkan-sebuah-blueprint-revolusioner-mengenai-environmentally-displaced-persons-kepada-kementerian-luar-negeri\/","title":{"rendered":"ALSA LC UGM Research Team Submits a Revolutionary Blueprint on Environmentally Displaced Persons to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ALSA LC UGM Research Team for the 2023\/2024 period proudly presents a <em>policy paper<\/em> entitled<em>Global Humanitarian Proposal<\/em>: The Urgency of Legitimizing the Terminology of <em>Environmentally Displaced Persons<\/em> in Mitigating Environmental Migration.\" This <em>Policy paper<\/em> was officially submitted to the Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu RI), through its representative, Fahrel Yusri Rahmat, S.H., online via Zoom Cloud Meetings on Tuesday (November 12, 2024).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current environmental crises and climate change have given rise to a variety of new and complex problems, one of which is the phenomenon of human displacement or <em>Environmentally Displaced Persons<\/em>The absence of a legal umbrella protecting those forced to move due to environmental factors demonstrates the urgency of legal reform and the need for a comprehensive policy framework to protect their rights. The ALSA LC UGM Research Team recognizes the urgency of this issue and is committed to contributing by developing a <em>policy paper<\/em> over approximately two months.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before its official submission to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday (1\/11\/2024), the ALSA LC UGM Research Team held a <em>hearing policy paper<\/em> with peer reviewers Haekal Al Asyari, S.H., LL.M. (Lecturer in International Law, Faculty of Law, UGM) and Andika Putra, S.H., M.H., LL.M. (Lecturer in Environmental Law, Faculty of Law, UGM). The <em>hearing policy paper<\/em> was also attended by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A. He expressed his appreciation for the ALSA LC UGM Research Team's hard work in addressing the issue of <em>Environmentally Displaced Persons<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Broadly speaking, this <em>policy paper<\/em> presents an in-depth analysis of the urgency of legitimizing the terminology <em>Environmentally Displaced Persons<\/em> and its relationship to various current environmental issues, addressing the controversial debate surrounding similar terms, and concludes with recommendations for the formation of regional regulations and the importance of international collaboration in protecting <em>Environmentally Displaced Persons<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the <em>policy paper<\/em> and expressed their appreciation for the dedication of the ALSA LC UGM Research Team in examining the issue of <em>Environmentally Displaced Persons<\/em>They will consider the recommendations outlined in the closing section of the <em>policy paper<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a comprehensive and solution-oriented policy framework, the ALSA LC UGM Research Team demonstrates its commitment to supporting humanitarian and environmental issues in the contemporary era. The <em>Policy paper<\/em> prepared by the ALSA LC UGM Research Team, includes at least five SDGs: <em>climate action; peace, justice, and strong institution<\/em>; <em>partnership for the goals<\/em>; <em>reduce inequality<\/em>; serta <em>quality education<\/em> , all of which are addressed through research conducted during the <em>policy paper<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the research process and <em>policy paper<\/em> development of the ALSA LC UGM Research Team implements the four <em>Pillars of <\/em>ALSA: <em>Academically Committed<\/em>, <em>Legally Skilled<\/em>, <em>Internationally Minded<\/em>, and <em>Socially Responsible<\/em>This also aligns with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: education and teaching, research, and community service through structured research and writing as contributions to the development of science and the development of policy recommendations that impact the wider community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contributions and successes of the ALSA LC UGM Research Team are expected to inspire a wider audience to continue playing an active role in addressing various global challenges and supporting the development of science in the future.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>ALSA LC UGM  The Research Team is a special team formed by ALSA LC UGM to conduct in-depth analysis of legal developments and provide solutions to current issues facing society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Writer: Putri Widhyastiti Prasetiyo (ALSA LC UGM)<br>Editor: Public Relations<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALSA LC UGM Research Team Periode 2023\/2024 dengan bangga mempersembahkan sebuah policy paper berjudul \u201cGlobal Humanitarian Proposal: Urgensi Legitimasi Terminologi Environmentally Displaced Persons dalam Memitigasi Migrasi Lingkungan\u201d.
