GenAI-based platforms are increasingly being used, including for legal research. In response to this phenomenon, the <em>Center for Law, Technology, RegTech, and LegalTech Studies <\/em>Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University (CTRL UGM), in collaboration with Hukumonline, held a Research Dissemination and Limited Seminar entitled \"Implementation of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Legal Research\" at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, on Friday (November 1, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introducing the event, the Executive Director of CTRL UGM, Dr. Wahyu Yun Santoso, S.H., M. Hum., LL.M., stated that this event marks a turning point in the recognition that technological developments must be a \"friend\" of the law.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Law is a reflection of social reality, so law will always exist alongside technological developments. Technology will certainly always prevail when paired with law, but law will always exist and act as a<em> legal barrier<\/em> that limits technology,\" said Wahyu Yun Santoso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Hukumonline's Chief Content Officer, Robert Sidauruk, S.H., M.B.L., introduced ASK Hukumonline as GenAI, a solution that can improve access to legal information services with a high level of accuracy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"GenAI should not be viewed merely as a <em>trend<\/em>but as an essential technology that transforms work in the legal field.
