Sleman, September 11, 2024 \u2013 On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM), through the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH), in collaboration with the High Prosecutor's Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), successfully held the \"Suluh Praja\" Legal Counseling event at the Sogan Village Hall, Wates District, Kulon Progo Regency, DIY. This legal counseling aimed to provide insights and legal knowledge to the participants, including village officials and the surrounding community, about common legal issues. This edition of Suluh Praja focused on the theme of \"Marriage\" to provide legal insights regarding inheritance from a legal perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began at 09:00 AM with a collective singing of the Indonesian national anthem, \"Indonesia Raya.\" The event continued with remarks from Mr. Indro, the Head of Sidoluhur Village. Next, Ye Oceng Almahdaly, S.H., M.H., from the DIY High Prosecutor's Office, gave an introduction and presentation on the roles, duties, and functions of the civil and state administrative law division of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Indonesia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main presentation was delivered by a speaker from UGM's Faculty of Law, Dr. Rimawati, S.H., M.Hum., a lecturer in the Department of Customary Law, who discussed the theme of \"Inheritance\" to provide insights into the legal aspects of inheritance. Another speaker, Dr. Agus Sudaryanto, S.H., M.Si., a lecturer in the Department of Customary Law at UGM, addressed the theme of \"Marriage\" to provide insights into the legal aspects of marriage. UGM's Faculty of Law speakers actively participated in discussions during the Q&A session with the village officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The material presented by both speakers was delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, leading to productive discussions. The lecturers also answered participants' questions clearly and provided solutions. It is hoped that this legal counseling will serve as an effort to strengthen an inclusive and peaceful society and contribute to achieving SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), starting from the village government level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with high hopes that such activities will continue to be held in order to raise legal awareness among the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
