Sleman, September 10, 2024 \u2013 On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) through the Legal Aid Consultation Center (PKBH) in collaboration with the High Prosecutor's Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) successfully held the \"Suluh Praja\" Legal Counseling event at the Wijirejo Village Hall, Pandak District, Bantul Regency, DIY. The purpose of this legal counseling was to provide insights and legal knowledge to the participants, including village officials and the surrounding community, about common legal issues. This edition of Suluh Praja focused on the theme of \"Employment\" to offer legal insights on labor-related issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event started at 09:00 AM, beginning with a collective singing of the Indonesian national anthem, \"Indonesia Raya.\" Ahelya Abustam, S.H., M.H., the Head of the DIY High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, officially opened the event. This was followed by remarks from Dr. Heribertus Jaka Triyana, S.H., LL.M., M.A., the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Information Systems at the UGM Faculty of Law, as well as from Mr. Wisnu, the Head of Wijirejo Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, Dr. Putri Ayu Wulandari, S.H., M.H., from the DIY High Prosecutor\u2019s Office, provided an introduction and presentation about the roles, duties, and functions of the civil and state administrative law division of the Prosecutor\u2019s Office of the Republic of Indonesia. The presentation was delivered by the keynote speaker from UGM's Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Ari Hernawan, S.H., M.Hum., a lecturer in the Labor Law Department, who discussed the theme of \"Employment\" to provide insights into legal aspects of employment. Additionally, another speaker from UGM's Faculty of Law, Dr. Murti Pramuwardhani Dewi, S.H., M.Hum., addressed the topic of \"Work Relations,\" providing village officials with insights into employment relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another speaker from the BPJS Employment (Workers' Social Security Agency) presented material on \"Employment Social Security Protection for Village Ecosystems\". All speakers from UGM's Faculty of Law, BPJS Employment, and the DIY High Prosecutor's Office actively participated in discussions during the Q&A session with the village officials. The material presented by all speakers was delivered in an interactive and engaging manner, fostering fruitful discussions. The speakers also answered participants' questions clearly and provided solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This legal counseling is hoped to serve as an effort to strengthen an inclusive and peaceful society and contribute to achieving SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), starting from the village government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
