Tuesday (27\/02\/2024), Nglaggeran Subdisctrict, Gunung Kidul, became the host for the legal\ncounselling with the notion \u201cSuluh Praja\u201d. This counselling aimed to enhance the deeper\nknowledge on law for the people of the village, along with answering questions that often arise\nthroughout their daily life. Through this opportunity, the speaker, Dr. Yulkarnain Harahab, S.H., M.Si. and Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw, provided the knowledge on the legal issue that often confused the people of the village.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the issues that has been discussed was regarding the licensing in land excavation. The\nparticipants were given the knowledge on the mechanism and the required licences. The offered\nsolution was about the importance of obtaining the legal license before the land excavation to\nprevent the legal consequences that may possibly arise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Peer-to-Peer Lending also became their main topic. The speakers highlighted the importance of\nhaving the legal lend agreement in the transaction. They also promoted mediation as alternative\ndispute resolution that is more beneficial than the litigation process.<\/span><\/p>\n

They also did not miss the crime problem for the discussion. The people were provided with the\nknowledge on the legal process for the crimes, and what action that should be taken if they are\ninvolved in the police investigation. Moreover, this discussion also covered the problem of\ninheritance. The participants were given the illustration of the legal steps that can be taken to\nobtain the legal inheritance rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

In solving the mentioned problems, the solutions that just given is important to understand the\napplicable legal procedure and obtaining the legal aid if needed. Mediation was also mentioned\nto be the most beneficial choice to settle the dispute instead of the litigation process that takes\ntime and is costly.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSuluh Praja\u201d in Nglaggeran Subdistrict becoming the initial step to enhance both the legal\nknowledge for the participants and the life quality of the participants through the better legal\nknowledge. By this comprehensive discussion on their legal rights and responsibilities, hopefully\nthat the participants and can maintain the justice and legal certainty in their daily lives. This is\naccordance with the 16th point of <\/span>Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) <\/span><\/i>\u00a0on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n
