Faculty of Law UGM held an International Seminar on \u201cAchieving Sustainability through Green\nEconomy Policies\u201d as one of the agenda of the 78th Dies Natalis Faculty of Law UGM\nCelebration on Thursday (15\/02\/2024). This event was held online and opened for public. This\nInternational Seminar was the implementation of the 11th point of <\/span>Sustainable Development Goals <\/span><\/i>on Sustainable Cities\nand Communities and the 13th point on Climate Action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the background of this seminar\u2019s theme was the policy of Indonesia Government that\nstated their effort in handling the climate change. This was carried out through the emission\nreduction, as well as the agenda of FOLU Net Sink 2030 under the Presidential Regulations No.\n98 Year 2021 and through the sustainable economic development like Indonesian Green\nGrowth program under BAPPENAS.<\/span><\/p>\n

This seminar was presented by 3 speakers that moderated by Dr. Wahyu Yun Santosa, S.H.,\nM.Hum., LL.M. The first speaker was Dr. Adebola Adeyemi as the Fellow from Durham\nUniversity, Center of Sustainable Development Law and Policy. The second speaker was Prof.\nDr. Drs. Paripurna Sugarda, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M. as the Head of the Business Law Faculty of\nLaw UGM. Lastly, the third speaker was Dr. Satoshi Ishihara as the Senior of Social\nDevelopment Specialist, The World Bank.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this International seminar, Prof. Dr. Drs. Paripurna Sugarda, S.H., LLM. explained about the <\/span>Green Finance in Indonesia and Its Prospect<\/span><\/i>. On his presentation, Prof Paripurna initially\nexplained about the basic principles in sustainable finance <\/span>sustainable finance<\/span><\/i>, followed with the practice examples\nand the regulation situation in Indonesia, along with the development of the sustainable finance. <\/span>sustainable finance<\/span><\/i> dan keadaan regulasi di Indonesia serta perkembangan <\/span>sustainable finance<\/span><\/i>This seminar also explained about the general challenges that face along with the possible\nproblems with this \u201cgreen economy\u201d policy in legal context. Moreover, this seminar also provided\na general description on the stakeholders, academics, and students, followed with what to\nunderstand in discussing the sustainable economic concept.<\/span><\/p>\n
