The UGM Faculty of Law, through the Business Law Community (BLC), sent a delegation consisting of Fandy Ahmad Salim (2021) as delegation leader, Adetia Surya Maulana (2021), Berlian Widya Tama (2021), Fitria Amesti Wulandari (2021), and Trias Ramadhany (2021) as delegation members. The delegation was accompanied by Muhammad Jibril, S.H., M.PrivateLaw, who served as their faculty advisor. The Business Law Competition: Hafni Sjahruddin Cup is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious business law competition in Indonesia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">This year, the 13th Business Law Competition: UI Hafni Sjahruddin Cup 2023 centered on the overarching theme \u201cExploring the Business Law Aspects of the International Supply Chain in the Manufacturing Industry as a Catalyst to Boost Indonesia\u2019s Economy.\u201d Meanwhile, the subtheme for the Contract Drafting &amp; Negotiation Competition was \u201cThe Manufacturing Process as a Crucial Part of the Global Supply Chain in the Automotive Industry.\u201d A total of 13 delegations from law schools across Indonesia participated in this competition.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Contract Drafting &amp; Negotiation Competition is divided into two rounds: the drafting round and the final round. In the drafting round, delegations were given one month to draft a contract based on a case study related to international trade, intellectual property (IP), corporate law, and the manufacturing industry. In this round, six delegations with the highest-scoring submissions were selected to advance to the final round at the University of Indonesia from Friday, October 6, 2023, through Sunday, October 8, 2023. The final round itself was divided into two sessions: the negotiation session and the oral adjudication session. In the negotiation session, delegates were asked to demonstrate the negotiation process between the parties in the contracts they had drafted. Meanwhile, the oral adjudication session consisted of a question-and-answer session conducted by the panel of judges regarding the content of the contracts and the simulated negotiations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scoring for this competition was based on a weighting of 60% for the written round and 40% for the final round. The UGM Faculty of Law delegation achieved the third-highest score in the written round and the highest score among all finalists in the negotiation and oral adjudication rounds, with a total score of 2,278 points.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For this achievement, the UGM Faculty of Law delegation would like to express its deepest gratitude to everyone who provided assistance during the competition\u2014from academics and practitioners in related industries to friends and upperclassmen who shared their valuable experiences and knowledge.
