An FH UGM delegation consisting of Edwin Gregorio Honasan (class of 2019), Dewi Adi Kusumastuti (class of 2019), and I Gusti Komang Wijaya Kesuma (class of 2019) won 1st Place along with the Best Presentation <\/em>award at the National Law Student Conference 2022, organized by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga, as part of the Airlangga Law Festival series. The final round took place on Friday, November 18, 2022, in the Pancasila Hall at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga, Campus B, Surabaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition began with a paper<\/em> -round open to universities across Indonesia. In the paper<\/em>-selection, all teams were required to write paper <\/em>open to universities across Indonesia. In this round, all teams were required to write a paper on the overarching theme \"Legal Reform in Indonesia in Line with the Constitution and Human Rights,\" which included two sub-themes: the Draft Criminal Code (RUU KUHP) and the Draft Law on State Guidelines (RUU Haluan Negara).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the selection round, eleven teams with the best paper <\/em>were chosen to compete in the final<\/em>round. The final round series opened with a National Seminar featuring Prof. Dr. Guntur Hamzah, S.H., M.H., Secretary General of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia, as speaker. This was followed by the Conferrence <\/em>itself, structured as a paper presentation<\/em>,<\/em> <\/em>di mana setiap paper<\/em> presentation session, in which each qualifying paper was presented and then responded to by the panel of judges and other participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eleven finalist teams represented ten universities: Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Universitas Lampung, Universitas Islam Nusantara, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, and Universitas Janabadra. Universitas Gadjah Mada won both the Best Presentation <\/em>award and 1st Place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this achievement, the FH UGM delegation (Team No. 009) expressed thanks to their supervising lecturer for the National Law Student Conference 2022 paper, Almonika Cindy Fatika Sari, S.H., M.A., along with everyone who helped throughout the competition. The article closes with the hope that FH UGM students will be motivated to sharpen their critical thinking and contribute their ideas toward national legal reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
