FH UGM held a career briefing for prospective undergraduate graduates on Friday, August 19, in the Auditorium of Building B. Around 60 students set to graduate in Period IV of the 2021\/2022 academic year attended. Titled From FH UGM to Your Dream Job #2: The Potential of Law Graduates in Pursuing Dream Careers at State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN),\"<\/em> the session was opened by Adrianto Dwi Nugroho, S.H., Adv.LL.M., LL.D., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The briefing aimed to equip prospective graduates with information about career opportunities for law graduates, particularly within the state-owned enterprise sector. The speakers were both FH UGM alumni who had gone on to build successful careers in that field: Yunan Novaris Arifidianto, S.H., and Saikhu Latief, S.H., M.H. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first session, Yunan Novaris Arifidianto \u2014 EVP Corporate Secretary & Communication at PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero) \u2014 shared extensive information about working as an in house lawyer<\/em> at state-owned enterprises, particularly PT PII. He noted that, looking at the evolving regulatory landscape, PT PII has a strong ongoing demand for law graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"There are two categories of skills required by law graduates to become an in house lawyer<\/em>: soft skills<\/em> and hard skills<\/em>. In this context, soft skills <\/em>here refer to integrity, independence, optimism, self-confidence,  problem solving<\/em>, and friendliness. Meanwhile, examples of hard skills<\/em> include abilities related to legal mapping, legal procedure, capability mapping, legal research, legal drafting, legal opinion, <\/em>and legal analysis.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second session, Saikhu Latief, Vice President of HR at PT Pertamina (Persero), shared his experience working at Pertamina, particularly regarding the recruitment process. He explained that Pertamina fills staffing needs through two main pathways: Internal Resources <\/em>and Non-Internal Resources<\/em>. The Internal Resources<\/em> pathway is reserved for existing Pertamina employees, while the Non-Internal Resources <\/em>pathway is open to both fresh graduate <\/em>and experienced hire<\/em>, each assessed against different competency standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"One of the crucial selection stages is the interview, because this stage will assess the candidate's competence. Some key highlights<\/em> in the interview are authenticity, being achievement-oriented, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the presentations, the session continued with a Q&A segment involving five participants. The event closed with the presentation of mementos from FH UGM to the speakers and a group photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
